Fancy a run/bike around Rutland Water. The minimum run/bike is 5/12 miles, but there are many alternatives. See Ali or me for more details.

We have received a letter of thanks / receipt from Magpas recognising the donation of £1,200 from the Half Marathon funds. As we don't have a club notice board at the moment, I've posted it in the Document Library under Misc Papers.

No problem - glad I can help out with something in the absence of any real ability to run fast in my seventh month of pregnancy!

I am sorry for getting names wrong - please do let me know where there are inaccuracies and I'll do my best to rectify them :)

I loved watching you all run on Sunday, but it's not half as good as actually taking part...well done all.

Maddy x

Maddy< thank you very much for taking and sharing these photos. They are extremely good! Paul in his socks, Phil looking like something out of the Bolshoi and both Ruth and I (not Peter) Looked like something a 3 year old could have drawn on a piece of paper with a toothbrush whilst drinking a pint of absynth! Thanks for the photos!

There is an error with the results which means that the times are a place out of sequence. If you finished in position x then the time you ran will be that listed against the runner in position x+1. The reason this happened was down to an extra time of 25:45 seconds on the printout, just 2 seconds behind the winning time even though the winner was well clear of the second placed runner. Hopefully Adrian will be sorting this out soon.

Adrian has indeed remedied this anomoly and the individual results file has been updated in our Document Library. Maurice

I'll upload directly to this site when I have a spare moment, but for now you might want to view some of the pictures Chris and I took yesterday here:

I have the sneaky suspicion that I may be down on the list for slow runer today. I have been called down to London so I am very unlikely to make it. Can someone let me know if I am slow runner please?

Indeed !!! well done BLUES!!! If just by one point or by 100 the results remains the same... BLUES were better than the yellows. Thank you for all those of the BLUE team who turned up, participated, shouted, cheered and supported (runners and families) We all hear you but sometimes not quite possible to acknowledge you but we appreciate the supporters. Well done.

Hi Maurice, we are interested in this event, can you tell me roughly what distance it is and roughly how long it may take? Bearing in mind my map reading skills and I might have 3 children with me. I am not sure I fancy spending 9 hours in Huntingdon!

Thank you

Liz

Liz - I haven't seen the courses or spoken to the planner, but the winning times for all the senior courses are likely to be around 30 mins with most finishing in the 35 to 45 mins timescale. For those of you that know Huntingdon and its back alleys, ginnels etc, you have a slight advantage. Those of you that have never handled an orienteering map have a slight disadvantage. I'll be there with Tom and Catherine (all competing in our own classes) but we will happily help anyone prepare and set off until we have to go for our own start times. Maurice

Whilst you are waiting to get the Frostbite results (will be in the Document Library around 21.00hrs or so tonight) you might want to take a look at the upcoming Huntingdon Town Race (Orienteering).

I know several of you are already interested in coming along based on the questions this morning and I am sure that the event will suit many of you. You don't have to have any special equipment to take part although if you have a compass and can use it, bring it along.

The details are at WAOC website and entry is online. Entry fees go up after tonight so enter today to save a couple of quids.

Well done to us blues! Although we only just beat the yellow team. I have enjoyed running these frost bite races with some extra friendly competition thrown in. I suppose now we will have to come together and make green!

Hi

If you are planning on doing your first frostbite tomorrow at the BRJ you will need a club vest. I will have some with me but you will have to part with £16 in order to obtain one. See you tomorrow...oh and come on the blues!!
